WHEN SHOULD I START CHANGING NUTRITION?

Ideally, 6-8 months before your event.  Yes, really.  

Let’s take a typical Ironman athlete for example. They need to be able to eat and drink 90% of their energy on the bike. Is your body trained to eat and drink enough fuel?

Do you know how your stomach will react? Will the supplements you chose give you diarrhea? Stomach cramps? Cause dehydration? 

How much do you sweat?

What are you eating in taper week? Day before the race? Morning of the race? During the race?

So let’s get started early.

WHAT IF I JUST WANT TO FINISH?

Elite athletes have a lot going for them.  Genetics for one. A life time of training for another.  Age-group and bucket list “completers” stand to benefit significantly from nutrition & hydration plans. 

We don’t just look at race or event day.  Honestly, that is too late.  The real changes are made months in advance with daily nutrition and training strategies that teach you how to fuel and hydrate to succeed.

I'M A FEW MONTHS OUT, CAN YOU HELP!!

Yes.  We can help you with just a few months before your event.

It’s not ideal but to make sure you are competing safely there are several things we can do to help you.

Assessing hydration, electrolytes, and energy needs a few months out can have significantly benefits.  It may be the difference between finishing and not finishing.

2 months is the cut-off.  We won’t take your money if there isn’t time to make meaningful changes. But we can get you setup for your next adventure.

CAN'T I JUST BUY A FASTER BIKE AND WHEELS?

Dollar for dollar the single best speed increase on the bike comes from weight loss.  Followed by a great coach with a plan. And then an aero helmet.

It’s simple physics if there is such a thing…

DO YOU WORK WITH FEMALES?

We work with mostly women!  No kidding and we have the references to prove it.

No offense guys, but most of us don’t ask for help until it’s too late!  Ladies seek out help early and follow through with recommendations.

I see mostly women in private practice as well; helping them with weight loss, nutrition changes, and eating behaviors. It has helped a great deal working with women athletes that require attention to blood work, hormones, and a variety of other unique XX chromosome needs.
